For more information see our applications page. You must have access to sufficient funding support to cover the University fees and maintenance costs that you incur while studying. You are responsible for ensuring that you are eligible to apply for PhD funding from selected sources.
UK Nationals
UK Nationals can apply to any of the programmes Babraham Institute holds, as described in Your PhD with Us. Some student programmes also undertake a 1-3 month internship in a science-related field outside the lab. All studentships include a tax-free stipend, as well as covering all fees and an allowance to the labs for research expenses. (see the for details)
Overseas and EU students
It is essential that you contact the Group Leader that you’d like to work with during your PhD studies before applying for funding. The Group Leader will consider whether there are available opportunities and, could help you to seek appropriate funds.
Overseas and EU students will need to provide their own funding for University fees and for their maintenance stipend. Possible sources of funding maintenance grants to cover these costs would include some UKRI-funded studentships, industrial studentships, studentships from your home country or University of Cambridge-wide , such as the and (please visit the University of Cambridge webpage).
