I completed my PhD at the University of Birmingham under the supervision of Professor Adam Cunningham, where I focused on antibody and T cell responses to Salmonella typhimurium. My research involved isolating antigens from Salmonella鈥攕pecifically flagellin and outer membrane proteins鈥攖o gain a deeper understanding of the immune response. I graduated in 2011. During my PhD, I spent six months in my final year at the University of Cape Town, working with Professor Frank Brombacher and William Horsnell. There, I investigated the impact of co-infection on host-pathogenesis. I continued my research on co-infection as a Postdoctoral researcher in Adam's lab.

In 2015, I transitioned out of academia and joined Abcam Ltd. in Cambridge, UK. I spent nine years at Abcam, working across various disciplines including R&D, process development and optimisation, as well as protein expression and purification. During this time, I gained extensive experience in a wide range of techniques, some of which I developed and transferred to Abcam鈥檚 global sites.

Recently, I returned to academia and am now working in Professor Kai-Michael Toellner's lab. My current research focuses on understanding autoimmune antibody responses, using an anergic mouse model.
